The School of Architecture at Syracuse University is looking for a Part-Time faculty member to teach one section of ARC 770 – Architectural Research, a three-credit course in the Master of Science in Architecture degree. ARC 770 is an introductory course in research methods relevant to the Design, Energy, Futures disciplinary area. Qualifications
Candidates must have demonstrated expertise in architectural research methods and in one or more areas of design theory, sustainable design, and/or energy systems in the built environment. Candidates are expected to have graduate level teaching experience. Job Specific Qualifications
A graduate degree in design, architecture, or a related field is required, as is design or teaching experience in the area of architectural research, architectural theory, or building energy systems. Responsibilities
Those of a part time faculty member with a teaching load of 3 credit hours including:
- Developing a course syllabus for ARC 770.
- Coordinating with the graduate office the arrangements for guests for the course workshops.
- Preparation of lectures, projects, or other assignments specifically for graduate architecture students.
- Maintaining regularly scheduled office hours.
- Presenting instruction based on the competencies and performance levels of the course.
- Meeting all designated class periods.
- Submitting final grades according to University regulations.
- Grading student assignments and exams in timely manner.
