Purpose of Position
NKU’s Human Resources Department is hiring an administrative professional to directly support the CHRO as well as assist the HR department in day to day operations. This position requires a high level of confidentiality, a strong commitment to customer service, a demonstrated level of diplomacy; along with strong public relations, communications, and writing skills in dealing effectively with administrators, faculty, staff, students and the public. Primary Responsibilities
• Responsible for the daily organization, operation and function of the senior director’s office.

• Responsible for the administrative details for the office of the senior director, assumes responsibility for researching and requesting information and maintaining efficient information flow.

• Maintains and coordinates the daily and long-range schedule of the senior director, exercising a high level of professional judgment in balancing conflicting events and issues; keeps senior director informed of daily schedule; obtains and provides necessary event materials.

• Coordinates schedules for senior director’s direct reports; maintains absence records, obtains appropriate approvals.

• Creates internal and external communications in the form of letters, email, announcements, newsletters, and updates.

• Screens and determines appropriate routing of senior director’s mail and phone calls (frequently confidential and sensitive in nature).

• Responsible for travel arrangements, obtaining travel approvals, tracking travel expenses, and preparing reimbursement requests for the Human Resources staff.

• Maintains employee confidence and protects operations by keeping information private.

• Welcomes guests and customers by greeting them, in person or on the telephone; answering or directing inquiries.

• Prepares reports by collecting and analyzing information. • Provides historical reference by developing and utilizing filing and retrieval systems; recording meeting discussions.

• Maintains office supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; evaluating new office products; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.

• Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree plus two years of professional experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Experience in high volume business office required – Human Resources preferred. Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Word and knowledge of SAP strongly preferred.

Strong office management skills a must including well-developed organizational, interpersonal, communication, and decision-making skills.

Excellent judgment, professional demeanor, positive attitude, high level of reliability/discretion, and customer-orientation.
