Description

The Master of Public Health (MPH) program at DePaul University seeks applicants for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning September 2022. The MPH Program was established in 2008 in the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences and is CEPH accredited. Its mission is to prepare dynamic public health leaders to work collaboratively with diverse communities to prioritize and investigate health concerns to achieve lasting social change, and foster health equity to promote the health and well-being of all people. The MPH program is standalone graduate program located at DePaul’s loop campus where it offers courses in the evening.

We seek candidates that have a scholarly research agenda examining social factors that affect population health, in urban settings. We are also looking for candidates with a commitment to excellent teaching, community-engagement, and possess advanced knowledge of statistical programs including Stata and SAS. Teaching responsibilities are primarily at the graduate level in the social epidemiology concentration and include courses in epidemiology, biostatistics, and capstone thesis. Candidates will benefit from the opportunity to work with the Center for Community Health Equity, a center operated in collaboration with Rush University Medical Center, to foster their engagement with urban health issues in Chicago.

Qualifications

A Ph.D. in Public Health or related field is preferred. Late-stage doctoral candidates will be considered.

DePaul seeks candidates with demonstrated cultural competencies to include teaching, service and research in diverse learning communities.
