Job Description
The Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Athletics Department is currently accepting applications for the Assistant Athletic Trainer. Reporting to the Director of Sports Medicine, this role assists with all athletic training services for the intercollegiate athletic teams. This position will facilitate practice and game coverage for the intercollegiate athletic program and all activities of the Sports Medicine office and athletic training/rehabilitation area.

The Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Athletics Department is currently accepting applications for the Assistant Athletic Trainer. Reporting to the Director of Sports Medicine, this role assists with all athletic training services for the intercollegiate athletic teams. This position will facilitate practice and game coverage for the intercollegiate athletic program and all activities of the Sports Medicine office and athletic training/rehabilitation area.
Job Responsibilities Include:
- Assist with game and practice coverage in the prevention and treatment of injuries, administer acute emergency care in a variety of situations that may arise on the playing field or court. Responsible for assisting the Director of Sports Medicine with rehabilitation, practice coverage and game coverage as assigned. Travel for away game coverage will be assigned.
- Administer acute emergency care in the absence of the team physician, the Director of Sports Medicine or any other medical personnel.
- Inform all coaching and Sports Medicine staff of current athletic injuries and emergency procedures.
- Follow guidelines outlined by team physician and Director of Sports Medicine.
- Perform rehabilitation protocols for various injuries that may arise under the supervision of the team physician and the Director of Sports Medicine.
- Record and process daily medical treatments and insurance claims as they relate to student-athlete injuries.
- Assist in the tracking and completion of insurance claims.
- Teach and work directly with the Sports Medicine fellows on a regular basis regarding proper procedures.
Required Qualifications:
- Master's degree
- (1-3) years of work-related experience
- National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) certification
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with a diverse group of constituents.
