Position Summary

This is a position in Sponsored Projects Services within the Office of the Vice President for Research which manages and supports the research infrastructure, provides stewardship of external funding and is dedicated to providing the best support possible for University researchers.

• The role of an Award Analyst is to manage post award activity, ensuring that all expenditures charged to sponsored project accounts, including grants, contracts, and cooperative agreements from Federal, State, Not for profit and Industry sponsors, are fully compliant with University, Research Foundation, and sponsor policies including project-specific requirements.
• The Award Analyst I works in an apprentice/ assistant mode with one or more Award Analyst colleague, to learn policies and procedures that control the management of expenditures, including review, approval and processing expenditures, as well as assisting with closeout of sponsored project accounts.

• The Award Analyst I will be trained with expectation that a portfolio will be assigned and to serve as the primary point of contact for post-award activities for those departments.

• As the point of contact, the Award Analyst I works collaboratively with faculty and staff providing information regarding policies and procedures and helps resolve basic/straightforward problems.

• Working remotely may be an option for this position.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree + 1-2 years of financial experience
Proficient in Microsoft Office tools
Preferred Qualifications

Experience in higher education setting

Attention to detail and ability to work with a high degree of accuracy.

Good math skills
