Position Summary

The Client Technologies Technician is a highly visible role functioning as the face of IT Support for Senior Executives. The work environment is dynamic, robust, and highly demanding of quality results through proven problem and time management. With access to special escalation matrices, tools, technologies, and resources, the Client Technologies Technician is enabled to deliver quality results fast to minimize down time.

The technician must establish trust and maintain a high level of confidentiality for all VIP operation activities/tasks. The technician will provide expert level desktop support/administration for end user devices in a complex enterprise environment. This role requires strong technical knowledge, exceptional customer service aptitude, and outstanding attention to detail. The technician will work with a support team responsible for providing advanced end user device technical support.

Primary Duties Are:
  • Provides advanced technical support for end user devices and technology including, but not limited to, computers, printers, mobile, network, and accounts/access
  • Provide IT/AV conference support for onsite/offsite presentations, events, and meetings including wireless networking, telephony, projectors, and speakers
  • Demonstrates keen ability to troubleshoot/repair difficult technical issues on-site and under pressure
  • Routinely performs system installations, upgrades and assists customers with hardware and software assessments
  • Maintains ticket tracking information in Remedyforce
  • Assists colleagues with technical issues as needed in order to foster knowledge transfer and skills development; provides expert technical knowledge and advice, including installation, testing, and evaluation of new software, monitoring, and support of systems
  • Train users in the proper use of hardware and software such as MS Teams, Zoom, Adobe, Microsoft 365, DUO MFA, etc.
  • Recommends and implements appropriate changes to increase system security
  • Stays current with state-of-the-art technology: Software and hardware for relevant computing platforms — operating systems, applications, methods, scripting languages, procedures, and techniques
  • Maintain a working understanding of networking concepts such as TCP /IP, DNS, DHCP and VPN
  • Assists with the development of desktop hardware and software configuration standards
  • Participates in the research and testing of new products and services

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field
  • Exceptional customer service skills; Ability to communicate effectively/consistently and develop respectable working relationships with other coworkers, Service Owners, and Executive Staff
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Windows and MacOS operating systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair complex computer, A/V, software and hardware failures and isolate network problems
  • Ability to diagnose problems and perform preventive maintenance on personal computers, notebook computers, wireless devices, application software, operating systems and related peripheral devices
  • Technical experience in a desktop computing support role
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating system installation and support procedures
  • Familiarity with Domain Name Service, TCP -IP, Network Services
  • Experience implementing secure computing technologies and practices (anti-virus, firewalls, security policies, automated patching, group policy, file system permissions)
  • Maintain the integrity of confidential business and sensitive information
  • Ability to work in a 24×7 environment, therefore, working extended hours, holidays, or varied hours may be required

Preferred Qualifications
  • 2 years of experience in a technical support role
  • Familiarity with SQL Server
  • Extensive Experience developing management/monitoring scripts using Windows Powershell and VB script
  • Experience with Virtual Desktop technology
  • Experience with workstation management and deployment using Microsoft SCCM or comparable solution
  • Experience in a university environment
