Coordinator of Dual Enrollment & High School Services

 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Administer the Dual Enrollment program including:
    • Collaborating with deans and local school systems to establish dual enrollment classes
    • Providing assistance to dual enrollment faculty and students in the enrollment and assessment process.
    • Establishing and maintaining dual enrollment contracts with the local school systems
    • Assisting students with the application process
  • Provide academic advising and enrollment assistance for all VHCC high school students
  • Plan, organize, and administer operation of VHCC activities for high school partners as assigned including Virginia Highlands Summer Governor’s School
  • Supervise Career Coaches
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with students, faculty & staff and other stakeholders important to the college
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Position Qualifications:

Required

  • Master’s degree required
  • Experience using Student Information System(s) for scheduling, enrollment and advising
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with public schools
  • Demonstrated experience planning, organizing and administering cooperative programs
  • Strong interpersonal, management, organizational; and written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to maintain a high level of ethics, professionalism and confidentiality in performance of all duties
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, faculty & staff and other stakeholders important to the college

 

Preferred

  • Master’s Degree in Counseling or student services related degree
  • Experience at a community college and understanding of the community college mission
  • Experience using PeopleSoft Student Information System

 

 

Position Available:

A 12-month position. Reappointment based on performance evaluations and institutional needs. Salary range $65,384-$77,000 commensurate with education and experience.

VHCC is a comprehensive community college in the Virginia Community College System, accredited by SACSOC, serving more than 4,100 students in Southwest Virginia.
