    The University of Oregon Department of Intercollegiate Athletics will provide an outstanding collegiate experience to our student-athletes while enabling them to pursue excellence in the classroom, the community and their lives while competing at the highest level in their chosen sport.

    Position Summary
    The Operations Supervisor will manage the back-of-house operation of the arena including planning, organizing, and supervising staff. This work will also include facility set-up, tear-down, clean-up, and access control using staff as well as outside contractors to ensure the arena is event-ready and maintained on a day to day basis.

    This position is responsible for promoting the philosophy and objectives of the intercollegiate athletics program, including adherence to all department policies and procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of the university, Pac-12 Conference, and the NCAA.

    Candidates who promote and enhance diversity are strongly desired.

    This position may be subjected to long hours and some work on nights, weekends, on-call, and on holidays as needed.

    Minimum Requirements
  • Three years' of experience in facility maintenance and/or event setup
  • Must have a valid Driver's License.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively to customers and members of the organization.
  • Ability to solve problems and make analytical decisions in situations with limited standardization.
  • Ability to interpret and communicate to others a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, and schedule forms.
  • Ability to remain calm, think clearly, and prioritize in time-sensitive situations.

    Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Previous management/supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience operating a forklift or other lifts and/or possession of certification of those lifts preferred.
  • Ability to use a computer using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook preferred.
