Pay Range: $51,272 or higher depending on education and experience

Position Summary:
Under the Director for the Center for Secure and Dependable Systems (CSDS), in the College of Engineering (or their assigned designee), this position provides leadership, management, and support of research in security and dependability for real-time digital simulators, power systems protection, control, networking and communication research networks as well as computing research, design, development, and testing of operating systems-level software, infrastructure, and network distribution software for medical, industrial, military, communications, aerospace, scientific, and general computing applications. This position will also work with the center staff to set operational specifications and formulate and analyze software\hardware requirements and security policies to advance the center's research mission. This position will also apply principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis with the goal of providing responsive mission-critical technology solutions, while continually assessing current and future potential.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering; a Bachelor’s degree and two additional years (5 total) of experience may substitute for a Master’s. • 3 years’ related work experience.
• Experience with Windows or Unix/Linux server administration.
• Experience maintaining commercial networked computing or industrial control systems.
• Experience solving problems spanning multiple computing platforms, processes, environment, and communication technology.
• Effectively communicating and support student, faculty, and staff in higher education research environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
• 4 or more years of related work experience.
• Experience working with power systems protection, communication, and control devices.
• Experience with power systems simulation tools.
• Experience with real-time digital simulator.
• Experience with VMware or Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Managements.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
• Ability to lift, carry, and/or otherwise move 30 lbs.
• Flexibility in work hours, so that computer maintenance can impact the fewest working hours for faculty, staff and students.
