Position Summary:
The Assistant Director of Housing Operations is responsible for leading the assignment and information desk team. This position has oversight of housing occupancy for up to 2,000 residence hall beds and 220 apartment units and works in conjunction with the Director of Housing and Residence Life on long range occupancy forecasting. This team member also serves as a core member of the leadership team. The position is responsible for leveraging the housing management software system to maintain and improve business processes. The Assistant Director is responsible for supervising full time professional staff and indirect supervision of 10-15 student desk staff. This position works closely with the following offices: Student Accounts, Financial Aid, Auxiliary Services/Dining, Athletics, Dean of Students and the Center for Disability Access and Resources.

Minimum Qualifications:
• High School diploma or GED Three years of professional experience in housing operations and residence life that includes:
• Supervision of full time staff;
• Communicating in a culturally sensitive manner with both individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds;
• Analyzing information, identifying problems, defining alternatives and developing recommendations for management/administrator;
• Managing multiple projects with competing deadlines that require a attention to administrative detail.



Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree;
• Master’s degree preferred in Student Affairs/Higher Education Administration, Business or other related field;
• Experience in occupancy management, assignments, billing and/or communications;
• Experience administering housing management software, Star Rez preferred;
• Demonstrated experience interpreting policy and law;
• Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication.
