Position Summary:
This position provides a wide variety of administrative support for the Housing & Residence Life (HRL) department. Primary duties include front desk management as well as providing assignment support to the Residence Hall Assignment Coordinator. This position is housed in an office with a high volume of customer interactions. The Administrative Assistant assists customers with the housing application process and responds to customer inquiries received in a variety of modalities. In addition, they spend a significant amount of time working in a computerized records environment. Housing & Residence Life is an auxiliary enterprise and is funded solely by customers who use our services — Housing & Residence Life staff members are expected to demonstrate a personal and professional commitment to providing excellent customer service.

Minimum Qualifications:
· High School Diploma or equivalent. Work experience that includes:
· Providing customer service, both in person and over the phone;· Using computer software and applications for word processing, email, internet searches and data organization;· Explaining policies, procedures or rules;· Working under pressure in a high volume environment.



Preferred Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree;· Experience working in a college or university setting;· Experience using Banner, housing management software (Star Rez);· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
