Position Summary:
This position, reporting to the Assistant Director of Student Care and Case Management, will support student retention and academic success through responding to reports of concern and referrals from the campus community. The Student Support Case Manager will serve as a case manager to students with at-risk mental health and social support needs through intervention, referrals, and connections to follow-up services. This position will provide comprehensive case management for students that experience varying levels of crisis and concern, including but not limited to academic, personal, financial, mental and physical health, and family issues. They will maintain an ongoing caseload, providing direct client services including initial assessment, follow up care, referring to community services, case management, short term/triage counseling and crisis intervention. This position's primary responsibility is to support students through a trauma-informed lens to offer case management services to a population of undergraduate and graduate students. Help students navigate personal challenges and wellness (emotional, environmental, financial, intellectual, occupational, physical, social, and spiritual). Caseload percentage will fluctuate depending on community and office needs throughout the year, and as delegated by the Assistant Director.

This position will work professionally with all internal and external customers using strong interpersonal skills. They will consult with students, staff, faculty, families and other constituents related to student reports of concern. This position will assist students in connecting with off-campus and on-campus resources and advocate for students as appropriate in helping them access services.

This position provides support to the Assistant Director in planning and implementing educational training and outreach that addresses current or trending issues, including but not limited to: mental health awareness, suicide prevention, healthy relationships, addition, stress and high-risk behaviors. They will support the Assistant Director in all aspects of special projects, case management, training programs, and outreach efforts to students, faculty and staff, participate in the “Dean on Call” afterhours rotation schedule and any other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related higher education field. - 3 years of experience working in a counseling or case management setting.

- Experience handling a variety of projects with competing deadlines simultaneously.

- Experience working cooperatively with law enforcement, medical, and legal communities, and non-profit victim services agencies.

- Experience gathering, assembling, correlating, and analyzing facts; devising solutions to problems; writing concise reports, and developing and evaluating policies and procedures; and interpreting, applying and explaining federal and/or state regulations.

- Experience developing and delivering presentations to small and large audiences.

- Experience utilizing computer applications to produce presentations, correspondence and reports.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in higher education.

- Experience working with applicable laws and regulations regarding student records (FERPA, HIPPA, Clery Act, and other legislation regarding students’ rights and services).

- Experience with cultural competency and the ability to communicate effectively in a culturally sensitive manner with both individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds

- Experience in planning and coordinating a case management program, program assessment, and conducting independent research (SPSS, STATA).

- Working knowledge of student case management database systems (Symplicity, Maxient, etc.).

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Experience working in a team environment and contributing to the overall success and wellbeing of the team.
