Instructor of Human Services/Pre-Social Work (Tenure Track) *Search Re-Opened*
The Department of Education and Human Services seeks a highly motivated candidate to serve as faculty in the Human Service/Pre-Social Work curriculum. This is a tenure-track faculty appointment with teaching responsibilities across the curriculum; in addition to teaching 15 contact hours per semester, non- teaching responsibilities include supporting students through regularly scheduled office hours and engagement in extra curricular activities. The candidate is expected to participate in curriculum, departmental, college, and appropriate professional community activities to promote and develop the curriculum.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: A Master's degree from a CSWE accredited program or equivalent MSW, college level teaching, and a minimum of one year of practical experience are required. All candidates must have evidence of responsiveness to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, as these factors relate to the need for equity-minded practice within the classroom.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Three years of practical experience are strongly preferred. Four semesters of undergraduate level teaching, including field experience, research methodology, and/or addiction counseling also strongly preferred. Preferred candidates are innovative and knowledgeable educators, proficient with instructional technology, and demonstrate culturally responsive approaches to teaching and course and program development.
SALARY & BENEFITS: The starting salary is $66,144 plus excellent benefits.
