An adjunct position as a Clinical Supervisor (CS) is open in the Master’s in School Leadership Program at
Providence College. EDU530/536: Internships 1 and 2 provide the opportunity for candidates to receive
two semesters of authentic experience in preparation as a RI certified school principal K-12. The CS
oversees a group of candidates serving as interns in their respective schools under the direction of their
principals, that is, their Clinical Educators (CEs). The CS visits each intern three times per semester: an
initial visit to develop an Individual Learning Plan specifying the intern’s projects and two visits to
observe the intern serving in a leadership role. Providing actionable feedback to the intern and CE are
essential components of this role. Essential Duties
The CS conducts bi-weekly seminars on campus and in-person where interns can share problems of
practice, field experiences, and progress on their projects. The CS also supervises a yearlong action
research project aimed at improved student performance that spans both semesters. Internship 1 is
offered in the Fall 2021 semester and Internship 2 in the Spring 2022 semester.
Qualifications: A Master’s in Education is required and substantial experience as a principal and/or
central office administrator. Candidates must be free during the day to make observational visits.
The position includes the following additional expectations:
• participation in morning faculty meetings every six weeks
• participation in program accreditation preparation and visits
• participation in ongoing program improvement efforts
• participation in individual student advisory meetings which serve as assessment and culminating
project presentations Education and Experience Required
