Employee Relations Manager

Under the supervision of the Associate Director for Human Capital Management, the Employee Relations Manager (Managing Assistant Director 2) has management responsibility for performance management and employee relations initiatives overseen by the Office of Human Resources including, but not limited to: performance assessment/reappointment, grievances and discipline; and also performs miscellaneous generalist responsibilities. The Employee Relations Manager develops and implements personnel-related policies and procedures in connection with assigned areas of responsibility and oversees a full-time staff member who is assigned to support activities in connection with these responsibilities. This position requires travel and a flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours.

Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor’s degree and two years of professional experience working with Human Resources management and compliance issues is required. Master’s degree is preferred. Candidate must have demonstrated working knowledge of federal, state and local laws and regulations applicable to human resources; solid consultative and coaching skills, relationship building and problem solving skills; and excellent presentation, communication and project management skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and HRIS is essential. Mediation experience is a plus.
