Position Summary:

This position provides research support and organizes daily operations for projects at the Institute for Research on Poverty (IRP), a nonpartisan research institution dedicated to producing and disseminating rigorous evidence to inform policies and programs to combat poverty, inequality, and their effects in the United States.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

Bachelors Degree in the social sciences or related field, preferred minimum

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

At least two years of experience supporting and conducting social science research preferred
Expertise in the use of software applications for creating publications, databases, spreadsheets, evaluation applications, and word processing required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
Ability to remain highly organized, attend to detail, manage a variety of tasks, and meet dynamic deadlines required
Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of faculty, affiliates, staff, and students required
Ability to engage in creative and independent problem solving required
Knowledge of poverty and social policy related research preferred
Experience creating data visualizations and developing website content preferred
Experience organizing and facilitating technology for virtual meetings and events preferred
