The Lane Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering within the Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources at West Virginia University is seeking applications for two Engineering Scientists.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Manage cyber-power system related research projects for successful and timely completion of deliverables.
- Work closely with graduate and undergraduate students and faculty members to coordinate the project progress.
- Contribute towards top quality technical publications.
- Participate in interaction with IEEE, CIGRE and industry partners.
- Support writing proposal for securing external
funding.
Qualifications :
- Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering or computer science with focus on cyber-power systems.
- 3+ year of research or industry project experience in one of
these areas:
- Power Grid Operation and Control
- Cyber-Power System Analysis
- Power grid computational analysis
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Ability to think creatively and use innovative problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of RTDS, PSS/E, EMS or similar simulation software tools.
- Ability to formulate and develop solution related to power system optimization.
