Appointment The position we expect to fill is contingent upon enrollment growth and availability of funds. Position Description / Responsibilities The Performing Arts Program at CI invites qualified candidates to apply for a position teaching an innovative new course exploring the roles Dance and Music in Elementary Education. Minimum Degree Requirements A Master's Degree (M.A.) or Master's of Fine Art Degree (M.F.A.) from an accredited institution. Required Qualifications An M.A. or M.F.A. degree from an accredited institution in Performing Arts/Dance/Music or closely related field. The instructor appointed to this position will have experience at a University level performing arts program.

As a condition of employment, this position will require a background check. The person holding this position is considered a 'mandated reporter' under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment. Preferred Qualifications The preferred candidate will have a record of teaching in multiple dance and/or music genres, as well as experience or an understanding of teaching strategies and techniques employed in an elementary education setting.
