Appointment The position we expect to fill is contingent upon enrollment growth and availability of funds. Position Description / Responsibilities To plan, develop and teach Master of Science Nursing classes online and supervise students doing their practica courses. To carry out other duties associated with lecturer responsibilities to include but not limited to: maintaining accurate student records/clinical grades, coordinating clinical instruction with other faculty; coordinating student experiences with clinical personnel; maintaining communications between the University and clinical agencies; participating in curriculum development; participate in CCNE and BRN accreditation activities; participating in curriculum excellence by remaining current in the subject matter and techniques of effective instruction through recent clinical experience and professional development. Responsibilities include: teaching and office hours. Assignment may include local travel to supervise students. Minimum Degree Requirements A Masters degree in nursing or higher from an accredited college or university which includes courses in nursing education or administration. Required Qualifications The successful candidate will possess experience in teaching of master's level nursing courses. Possession of a current active California RN license; national certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner and/or Certified Nurse Educator; at least one year experience teaching graduate nursing courses or completion of a course that includes practice in teaching nursing; at least two years continuous full time experience in direct patient care practice as an RN or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) and at least one year of continuous full time experience in direct patient care practice as an RN or APRN within the last 3 years.

The person holding this position is considered a 'mandated reporter' under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment. Preferred Qualifications Ability to teach graduate nursing courses. Excellent communication and collaborative skills. Flexibility in teaching assignments. Experience with using multiple teaching modalities in a population that includes a wide variety of multicultural learners. Willingness to travel to supervise students doing their practica courses. Salary Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
