Position Description / Responsibilities The History Program at CSU Channel Islands is building a pool of candidates interested in teaching on a part-time basis. We are currently seeking qualified part-time instructors to teach the following courses for the 2020-21 Academic Year, pending enrollment:

U.S. History to 1877
U.S. History Since 1877
World Civilizations to 1500
World Civilizations Since 1500 Minimum Degree Requirements Master's Degree in History or equivalent. Required Qualifications Appropriate training in a field/sub-field relative to the teaching assignment; strong commitment to undergraduate education; a record of effective teaching experience; and commitment to work in a student-centered multi-ethnic and multicultural environment.

As a condition of employment, this position will require a background check. The person holding this position is considered a 'mandated reporter' under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment. Preferred Qualifications The preferred candidate will have a Ph.D (or ABD) in hand plus a record of effective teaching with a variety of appropriate methodologies; experience in the use of innovative instructional strategies and technologies; interdisciplinary teaching experience; an established research agenda that could involve undergraduates; experience in and commitment to ongoing assessment of teaching and learning.
