Assistant Compliance Officer - (STA007767)



Assists the Chief Compliance Officer in overseeing the university's compliance programs and the formulation, execution, and evaluation of strategic compliance planning in support of the university's vision, mission and values. Assists with managing the day-to-day operations of large university program or department, which may include the supervision of staff employees, student workers, programs or processes.
  1. Responsible for the overall coordination of the processing, maintenance and communication of university and system policies; interfaces with administration, faculty and staff in the development, revision and processing of policies and procedures.
  2. Plans, develops and implements procedures for administering large or complex department, program or process.
  3. Assists the Chief Compliance Officer with the functioning of, work, and initiatives of the UH Office of Compliance and Ethics, the UH Institutional Compliance Program, and the UH Institutional Compliance Committee.
  4. Assists with providing compliance-related training to and working with institutional representatives to maintain compliance standards.
  5. Helps create awareness of the university's compliance program, compliance initiatives, policies and procedures.
  6. Works with the Office of Legal Affairs, the Internal Auditing Department and other UH departments, to respond to alleged violations of rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
  7. Manages fiscal activities, including procurement and budget analysis.
  8. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Requires singular knowledge of a specialized advanced professional discipline or the highest level of general business knowledge, normally acquired through attainment of a directly job‐related terminal degree or equivalent formal training in a recognized field of specialization that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Requires a Juris Doctor Degree and a minimum of one (1) year of directly job‐related experience or equivalent formal training.
