    Department Summary
    The Division of Student Services and Enrollment Management (SSEM) advances the University of Oregon's tradition of excellence by enrolling and retaining high-achieving scholars from across Oregon, across the country, and around the world. SSEM units include the Enrollment Management departments of Admissions, Budget and Financial Administration, Research and Assessment, Student Financial Aid and Scholarships, Registrar, Strategic Communications and Marketing, and Student Orientation, as well as Continuing and Professional Education, and the Student Services departments of the University Health Services, University Housing, and University Testing.

    Position Summary
    The Travel Coordinator supports the Division of Student Services and Enrollment Management (SSEM) with an extensive portfolio of travel administration. Staff in the Office of Admissions and many other units in SSEM travel to support the recruitment of prospective students throughout Oregon, the United States, and key international areas. Additionally, SSEM staff travel for professional development opportunities, such as attending professional conferences. The Travel Coordinator serves as the division expert on travel policy and supports training staff on how to properly plan, execute, and report travel via the UO policy. The Travel Coordinator provides trainings and supports individual staff members as needed. The Travel Coordinator also works closely with the Executive Assistants to the Vice President and Associate/Assistant Vice Presidents in the Division to provide direct support for executive travel.

    The Travel Coordinator reports to the Assistant Director for SSEM Budget and Financial Administration, and together, they provide reports on aggregate-level travel trends in SSEM, seeking efficiencies and cost-saving measures as well as other travel-related issues.

    Minimum Requirements
  • Two years of general clerical experience, one year of which included typing, word processing, or other experience generating documents;
    OR
  • An Associate's degree in Accounting, Office Occupations or Office Technology;
    OR
  • Graduation from a private school of business with a Certificate in Office Occupations or Office Technology and one year of general clerical experience.

    College courses in Accounting, Office Occupations or Office Technology will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

    Professional Competencies
  • Demonstrated experience performing work using computer systems
  • Ability to work effectively with staff, and students from a variety of diverse backgrounds
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain complex concepts to audiences with a wide range of backgrounds and experience
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative environment

    Preferred Qualifications
  • Two years of experience as an administrative assistant or travel coordinator
  • Accounting or financial administration background
  • Demonstrated experience with SAP Concur
