We are seeking a Development Associate to work out of our headquarters in Santa Barbara on a full-time 37.5-hour per week basis. Due to COVID-19, employment will be working from home until we can safely open our Santa Barbara office.

Summary

The Development Associate is a member of the Office of Development team at Fielding Graduate University. The position supports operations of the Office of Development and daily tasks include, but are not limited to, maintaining donor data integrity, gift processing, administrative support of events and fundraising campaigns, and donor interactions by phone and in person.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree is preferred.  Minimum two years of related experience in fundraising, office operations, customer service and/or accounting. Proficient in word-processing and spreadsheet software. Familiarity with fundraising or other database software platforms.

Strong written, personal communication and customer service skills. Personal communication skills must include ability and eagerness to communicate by phone. Ability to maintain highest standard of confidentiality. Ability to work accurately under pressure. Punctual, highly organized, articulate, with a good professional grasp of a professional services environment and a commitment to professional and personal development. Clear evidence of sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of all Fielding constituencies. This position is heavy on administrative tasks, but is also a position that is public and requires a people person. It's an ideal position for a person who works hard, thrives in a high-support and high-performance team environment, and has a strong interest in building a career in the field of philanthropy and social justice.
