The School of Business Administration at the University of Houston-Victoria is seeking a Non-Tenure Track Clinical Professor to join our team of faculty in the Management Depart beginning August 15, 2021. The position will be located at our Victoria Campus. Our AACSB International and SACSCOC accredited programs include a Bachelor of Business Administration with several concentrations, and two graduate programs, the Strategic MBA and the Global MBA. Undergraduate enrollment is over 1100 students, and combined graduate enrollments total over 800. 

 

The successful candidate will be able to teach courses across management curriculum, develop curricula, assess learning outcomes, participate in accreditation activities, and assist with outcomes assessments. Faculty are required to hold regular office hours, advise students academically, perform assigned committee work, and engage in professional activities to maintain academic credentials. This position will have a particular focus on Nonprofit Management.

Position Summary:  The appointment is a nine month, non-tenure track position with the following responsibilities: teach 12 hours per semester of undergraduate and graduate level management courses via online, interactive TV, and face to face; participate in course and program development, particularly in the area of nonprofit management; perform university and professional service; engage with the local Victoria business community to provide our students with real world experiential learning opportunities and enhance their career development; work cooperatively with diverse groups; work with and be sensitive to the educational needs of a diverse student population (UHV is designated as a Hispanic Serving Institution and has substantial enrollments of minority populations); and perform other duties as assigned by the dean and the chair; Additional opportunities for summer teaching and may be available. Because of our outreach mission to serve the larger Texas Crossroads area, the position also may require online teaching and travel to our Katy Learning center and possibly other offsite locations. Qualifications

Master’s degree in business or a related field and extensive, recent managerial/executive level experience in a nonprofit environment are required. Must possess deep network of professional contacts in the Victoria region in order to help us grow our programs and provide experiential learning opportunities and career opportunities for our students. This is a senior-level position, and the successful candidate will have the capacity to assume an immediate leadership role in development of our Nonprofit Management programs as well as our community outreach efforts.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Prior online, classroom, and clinical teaching experience at the collegiate level. Masters level teaching experience greatly preferred
  2. Online teaching and course development experience
