Description of Responsibilities:
The SRC Endowed Professor in Engineering will have a rare opportunity to serve in a recently endowed professor position where they will actively contribute to the continued development of an innovative, project-based, ABET-accredited Electrical and Computer Engineering program in collaboration with the department chair, faculty, and administrators. The SRC Endowed Professor will be expected to develop and teach new curricular content within the Robotics emphasis area of the department, including an emphasis on and responsibilities in STEM-oriented community outreach, particularly at the K-12 level.

- PhD (or completion of PhD no later than end of Fall Semester 2021) in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering or closely related fields
- Excellence in teaching and scholarship appropriate to rank
- Commitment to undergraduate education
- Commitment to service to the department, campus and community as a whole
- Communication and interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively with a diverse community of students and colleagues.
Though faculty eligible for appointment at the Associate Professor or Professor rank may be more prepared for the position responsibilities, candidates at the Assistant Professor level will also be considered, particularly those with a strong alignment in interests and preparation to the requirements of the position.
- Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in areas including but not limited to: Robotics, Mechatronics, Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things and Deep Learning
- Demonstrated experience teaching undergraduate Electrical and Computer Engineering courses and labs
- Demonstrated success in program, course, laboratory, or curriculum development
- Demonstrated success in undergraduate education
- Demonstrated success in STEM-oriented community service/outreach, particularly at the K-12 level

Description of Department: The Electrical and Computer Engineering Department is a highly dynamic department fully committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive learning environment for our vibrant and diverse population of faculty and students. The department opened in August 2013 and has since experienced a large enrollment growth and demand. It occupies excellent facilities equipped with state-of-the-art equipment in the Shineman Science and Engineering Building with several studio teaching rooms and project laboratories that support flexible, modern and innovative teaching methods throughout the curriculum. Research laboratories such as the Wireless Solutions Laboratory, the Modern Energy Laboratory and the Robotics Laboratory are well equipped and currently support multiple faculty and student research projects. The department also boasts a close relationship with local industry resulting in several industry-sponsored project collaboration opportunities. The fully ABET-accredited program delivers a combined Electrical and Computer Engineering degree that allows students to delve further in areas of emphasis that include robotics, embedded systems, wireless systems, and modern energy systems.
