Post-Doctoral Fellow Position in Neuroimaging and Focused Ultrasound-Mediated Neuromodulation

The Center for Advanced Imaging Research (CAIR) in the Department of Radiology & Nuclear Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is a collaborative environment for investigators who are conducting cutting-edge imaging studies and image guided therapeutic innovations with strong translational potential. We are currently recruiting a Postdoctoral Fellow with a Ph.D., M.D. (or equivalent) with background in Neuroscience, Neuroimaging, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related fields. The postdoctoral researcher will participate in newly NIH-funded studies to apply neuroimaging and focused ultrasound to 1) transiently open the blood brain barrier to improve the delivery of gene-therapy (using customized CRISPR-Cas9 agents) and nano-formulated antiretroviral drugs to the brains of rodent models of HIV; 2) perform neuromodulation in preclinical models of substance use disorders. Preference will be given to candidates with a demonstrated track record of prior experience conducting research with neuroimaging or focused ultrasound involving animals, especially in those with drug-self administration rodent models.
