Kean University also operates a unique, additional location in Wenzhou, China, where development of a full-scale campus is currently underway. Positions are available at the Union campus as well as Kean Ocean, Kean Skylands and other locations where indicated.

School of General Studies

General Education Math – to teach developmental algebra and/or a terminal, first year level general education math course such as: Foundations of Math; Statistics; or Problem Solving. A Master’s Degree in Mathematics; Mathematics Education; or Statistics is required. Priority will be given to candidates with prior o nline teaching experience for online courses and familiarity with an LMS (preferably Blackboard). Courses are to be taught either online or in-person at the Union campus.

Philosophy and Religion - to teach Critical Thinking; Formal Logic; Philosophy of Law; Introduction t o Philosophy; Introduction to Ethics; Theories of Punishment; Research and Technology; Introduction to Religions of the World; and Eastern Religions. Priority will be given to candidates with prior online teaching experience for online courses and familiarity with an LMS (preferably Blackboard). Courses are to be taught either online or in-person at the Union campus.

Research and Technology - to teach an interdisciplinary, sophomore-level research course to students with majors in Business, the Liberal Arts, the Sciences, and/or Education at the Union camp us and online. This is a General Education Foundation course. Experience in teaching college-level writing-intensive courses, writing-focused research courses or research methods courses is required. Preference will be given to candidates with online teaching experience for online courses and familiarity with an LMS (preferably Blackboard). Courses are to be taught either online or in-person at the Union campus.

Transition to Kean - to teach Transfer Transitions. Priority will be given to candidates with prior online teaching experience for online courses and familiarity with an LMS (preferably B lackboard). Courses are to be taught either online or in-person at the Union or Ocean campuses.

Classes begin September 1, 2021. All positions require a Master’s degree in a related field and teaching experience unless otherwise indicated; candidates with an ABD, Ed.D., Ph.D. or other acceptable disciplinary doctorate are encouraged to apply. Proficiency in Blackboard and Online Learning Pedagogy is required of all adjuncts, consistent with University guidelines. Kean may offer free voluntary Blackboard workshops to otherwise qualified applicants.
