Position Summary:

This position is in the Wisconsin Reading Center (WRC) within the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences (DOVS). The WRC provides medical expertise and specialized image evaluation services in support of clinical trials for eye diseases. The incumbent will join a team that actively participates in supporting the directives, goals, and mission of the Department.

This position will be responsible for invoicing, accounts payable and accounts receivable for contracts and grants. This position will also perform other financial transactions including WRC purchasing and travel reimbursements. This position will be involved in grants by assisting the DOVS Grants Administration Team.

No degree required. Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

At least one year minimum experience in a professional office setting working on accounts receivables/payables or related accounting duties preferred.

Knowledge/Skills Required:
-1 year minimum experience in a professional office setting working on accounts receivables/payables or related accounting duties
-Knowledge of windows programs including Excel spreadsheet, database and word processing software
-Strong analytical skills and the ability to write and communicate effectively
-Ability to manage many detailed projects simultaneously under tight deadlines
-Judgment, initiative, and independent decision making is required to achieve departmental goals. The incumbent is expected to collaborate and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, staff, campus personnel, and vendors.

Knowledge/Skills Preferred:
-Education or training in business, accounting or finance
-Experience in principles of accounting
-Working knowledge of WISDM, UW purchasing and other UW financial systems
