The Department of Fine Arts at Auburn University at Montgomery is seeking an adjunct instructor(s) capable of teaching VISU 3030: History of 17th and 18th Century Art on Monday/Wednesday from 2:10 – 3:25 pm and/or VISU 3630: Modern Art to 1945 on Monday/Wednesday from 9:25 am to 10:40 am. These courses will be offered face-to-face in a classroom setting. The applicant(s) must also be prepared to work with graduate students enrolled in a stacked section of a given course. .

All instructors are expected to be competent teachers who cover the essential content and fulfill the learning objectives of the courses they teach; responsive to changing professional needs; committed to innovative delivery of instruction resulting in improved student learning; and be capable of teaching online.

Application materials must include a brief cover letter that provides a professional introduction and discusses experience teach History of 17th and 18th Century Art and/or Modern Art to 1945, a curriculum vita, a list of three academic references, and copies of all collegiate-level transcripts.

Minimum qualification: A master’s degree in Art History (MA) from an accredited institution by May 31, 2021. Prior experience teaching for an accredited institution is preferred and the ability to utilize an online learning management tool such as Blackboard is needed.
