Childcare Assistant Teacher - 3-year-old Class



Shenandoah University’s Child Care center is seeking applicants for an Assistant Teacher for 3-year-old Class. This is a full time, benefited position located in Winchester, VA.

Responsibilities:

Assist teacher in daily activities; Help develop and implement lesson plans; meet each child’s basic needs; interact with children; take children outside daily; communicate with parents about their child’s day; clean and sanitize toys and tables; learn and implement licensing regulations. Maintain a positive learning environment in the classroom.

Required Skills

Qualifications:

Shall be at least 18 years of age. Shall have previous experience working with young children in a group childcare setting. Have effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, great thinking skills, ability to focus on multi-tasks, cope with high stress levels, maintain confidentiality, must be able to lift at least 50 pounds, have physical dexterity, and have the ability to reach arms above head. Must be willing to receive annually 16 in-service hours, CPR and First Aid, and attend staff meetings.
