Job Summary:

The Assistant/Senior Assistant Director for International Admission will assist and coordinate with assigned programs and projects, ensuring that overall strategies and efforts align with and support the larger strategic vision, plans, and goals of the Office of Admission. The position will be responsible for managing and evaluating assigned international student recruitment strategies and initiatives, and will provide ongoing assessment, and recommendations. The position also includes responsibility for a geographic recruitment market and other general admission counseling duties, such as application review, admission presentations, and admission special events. In addition, this position is responsible for the understanding and upholding of Miami University’s and Enrollment Management and Student Success’ Diversity, Equity and Inclusion statements, values and goals.

 

Duties/Physical Demands:

Develop, coordinate and participate in international recruitment and yield activities and communication campaigns utilizing but not limited to; on and off-campus events, virtual events, email, and social media. Correspond with students and their families through prospect management including the use of email, phone calls, and social media. (30%)
Manage an international student recruitment territory. Conduct regularly scheduled recruitment visits to schools and agencies within a geographic area to meet with prospective students, school officials, counselors, families and agents. Maintain relationships and participate in regional events. Leverage data to monitor and to respond to enrollment trends in the defined recruitment territory. (30%)
Assist with international admission application review. Actively engage in international application and scholarship review. (15%)
Assist with the development, implementation and evaluation of assigned projects. (10%)
Coordinate and manage international student ambassadors to assist in international recruitment and yield (10%)
Serve as a Designated School Official (DSO). Process initial I-20 visa documents for newly accepted first-year and transfer international students. (5%)

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience in recruitment and territory management, or similar experience in counseling, sales, marketing, or related field; excellent communication skills, including public speaking and writing ability; high level of organizational and self-starting skills; ability to work with minimal supervision; demonstrated commitment to recruiting individuals from diverse backgrounds; knowledge of and experience with computer systems and various software applications, especially Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; ability to lift 30-40 lbs of recruiting materials; valid driver's license; ability to perform overnight travel.

Assistant Director: Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of two years of experience with progressively responsible duties or a Master’s Degree with no experience required.

Senior Assistant Director: Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of three years of experience with progressively responsible duties or a Master’s Degree and a minimum of one year of experience.

Demonstrated knowledge and experience with computer systems and various software applications; proven ability to work with diverse constituencies; exceptional written and oral communication skills.

Must possess a driver’s license and be able to meet requirements for becoming a Designated School Official (DSO)

This position is available to persons who are currently located and authorized to work in the United States on a full-time and indefinite basis. (Persons authorized to work on such a basis include US citizens, lawful permanent residents (“green card” holders), asylees, refugees, and temporary residents under IRCA
This position is not eligible for H1-B Visa or OPT support. It is not eligible for PERM sponsorship.
