Portland Community College is excited to announce the search for a newly created Director of Student Conduct and Community Support (SCCS) position in the Division of Student Life and Engagement. The inaugural Director of the SCCS reports to the Dean of Student Life and Engagement, and serves as a member of the Dean’s leadership team as well as the Vice President's Council of Student Affairs Leadership Team (C-SALT). The Director is responsible for the development, management, and evaluation of the college's student conduct and CARE processes as well as appeals, complaints, feedback, and resolutions. This position creates and distributes reports of and ensures proper investigation and resolution of alleged violations of the Code, or of any other regulations as the Dean may direct. In this work, the Director utilizes an educational, equitable, and restorative approach in managing and resolving student conduct and CARE concerns. The Director also works collaboratively with campus partners to develop and facilitate campus-wide behavioral education and prevention efforts, setting strategic priorities focused on risk reduction, prevention, and education. Additionally, this position oversees the college's Freedom of Expression training and partnership efforts. Lastly, this position oversees all staff hiring, supervision, and ongoing development for the employees of the SCCS team.

-Demonstrates practical application of theories to provide support for the differences of individual student experiences, race, gender, and linguistic diversity, and socioeconomic status.
-Remains current on technology and evaluates relevance and effectiveness for improving access to student-centered practices.

Minimum Qualifications

To be considered, your application must demonstrate these minimum qualifications. (Experience is calculated based on the start and end dates you provide multiplied by the number of hours per week worked).

Bachelor’s Degree in Counseling, Education, Social Science, or related area. Five years (5) progressively responsible experience related to the area of assignment including two years (2) of experience supervising employees.

OR

Bachelor’s Degree OR Associate’s Degree in any field. Seven years (7) progressively responsible experience related to the area of assignment including two years (2) of experience supervising employees.

OR

Nine years (9) progressively responsible experience related to the area of assignment including two years (2) of experience supervising employees.

Position Grade K Starting Salary Expectations Minimum $70,796 to range midpoint of $86,726 Placement will generally not exceed the mid-point, based on qualifications, experience, and internal equity. Position Grade Salary Range $70796 to $102654 Annual Salary FTE 1 PCC Benefits

PCC currently fully funds the Oregon Public Employees Retirement System (PERS/OPSRP) pension and contributes an additional 6% into the employee's Individual Account Program under PERS/OPSRP. After one year of management or confidential service, PCC also provides a 2% contribution to a 403(b) account for eligible management and confidential personnel. PCC offers a tax deferred annuity program and a deferred compensation program where employees may save additional pre-tax dollars for retirement.

Additionally, PCC provides a tuition waiver for you, your spouse/domestic partner, and dependent children under 24 years of age, as well as partial tuition reimbursement for full-time employees at other accredited institutions.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements Work environment includes frequent disruptions and changes in priorities. Work is generally performed in an office environment with frequent interruptions and irregularities in the work schedule. Working hours may vary and some evening or weekend work is required. Required to provide on-call support. Frequent travel to other locations is required. No special coordination beyond that used for normal mobility and handling of everyday objects and materials is needed to perform the job satisfactorily. Background Check Required Yes
