Assistant Resident Director UB/SIM Undergraduate Programs, Singapore

Position Summary

The Assistant Resident Director will be responsible for supporting the administration of University at Buffalo’s Singapore-based undergraduate degree programs. The Assistant Resident Director will be based at the program’s campus in Singapore, and will report to the program’s Resident Director.

As Assistant Resident Director, you will work closely with both Buffalo- and Singapore-based personnel, program instructors, and program students on a wide range of activities related to student affairs administration and academic operations management. Your responsibilities will include, among others:

  • Liaising with student groups, and coordinating student scholarship programs, and student honor society inductions
  • Helping prepare and deliver in-person and virtual orientations for students or faculty; co-delivering student and parent briefing sessions, supporting student recruitment events, and serving as an emcee for student events
  • Coordinating all aspects of student mobility program between the Singapore campus and the UB campus
  • Serving as a writer and editor for internal student and staff publications; and preparing and updating program handbooks and informational materials
  • Collecting, reviewing, and distributing academic materials. Preparing various administrative forms, including but not limited to documentation required by the Government of Singapore
  • Supporting general office administrative operations. Providing logistics support for faculty and staff. Assisting with or triaging technology requests.




Evening and weekend hours are required.

Employment in this position is contingent upon receipt of employment authorization and entry approval from the Government of Singapore. Accommodations in Singapore and round trip airfare are provided.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience. Experience must include professional-level work experience in a U.S. higher education environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including demonstrated intercultural skills, and the ability to communicate and interact effectively with a wide range of individuals.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • An ability to prepare and deliver clear and compelling in-person and virtual presentations.
  • A facility with using software applications, including Microsoft Office applications. An ability to effectively use digital communication and social media tools.
  • A commitment to accuracy, high attention to detail, and an ability to learn and effectively employ new skills, as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s Degree. Experience working overseas.
