Position Summary

The Project Manager for the Manufacturing Extension Partnership provides project design and management to identify potential partners within the manufacturing sector to expand the state presence in Industry 4.0 (robotics, 3D printing, cloud computing, virtual reality, etc.) The Project Manager works with clients to expand use of Industry 4.0 methods and best practices and to ensure satisfactory and efficient progression of projects in accordance with the client's needs and college standards. Utilizing best practice retention strategies for ensuring the ongoing involvement of clients, the Project Manager conducts meetings and engages in follow-up discussions with clients, and works with project teams to facilitate concurrence regarding due dates, quality standards, and client satisfaction. Utilizes technical expertise to organize and lead industry-relevant webinars and training sessions. Collaborates with marketing team to develop educational and sales materials that promote Industry 4.0 methods and the obtainment of related certifications.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Project Management

Coordinate, collaborate, and provide oversight to partner service providers engaged in direct service as an extension of the MEP. Creation and facilitation of peer networks comprised of experienced users of Industry 4.0 methods and new adopters. May include weekly status updates to both internal and external stake holders. Work with project team to implement decisions that will improve results. Engages with stakeholders at all levels to ensure that projects are progressing appropriately and makes adjustments based on stakeholder feedback. Ensure customer compliance with end of program elevation surveys.

Relationship Management

Identifies potential business operations improvement partners. Consults with clients throughout operations improvement process to assess satisfaction, provide support, and build rapport.

Training & Development

Organizes and conducts Industry 4.0-focused technical trainings and webinars designed to educate and improve performance. Facilitates training for small
manufacturers on improvement of equity and inclusion practices in recruitment and the workplace. Implements decisions based on results. Participates in professional development activities, in-campus meetings, and serves on committees, as required.

Marketing & Communication

Utilizes technical knowledge to assist in the development of promotional and outreach materials, including print, digital, web, and social media. Where applicable either sources or captures original images to utilize in outreach communication and documentation. Incorporates client feedback into marketing strategy. Leverages technical knowledge to build and implement educational resources that will grow Industry 4.0 methods in Ohio. Delivers high-impact educational and sales presentations to potential clients. Represents the MEP at Columbus State at industry association events and conferences. Monitors and responds to appropriate inquiries received through MEP.CSCC.EDU.

CRM Administration

Researches and serves as a liaison with technical training and education providers across the State. Where appropriate identifies or develops applications within identified CRM. Provides the MEP Director with weekly dashboard reports.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

Manages multiple assignments of varying complexity and meets tight timelines and deadlines with the ability to adapt to changing needs of the College and business partners. Ensures College name and image is perceived positively by external as well as internal audience/stakeholders. Regular, predictable, and punctual attendance is required.

Physical Requirements

While performing duties of this job, the employee regularly exhibits digital dexterity when entering data into computer. The employee regularly stands and walks for extended periods of time, and occasionally sits. Employee converses verbally with others in person and by telephone. Employee occasionally reaches with hands or arms, climbs or balances and stoops, kneels, crouches or crawls. Vision demands include close, relatively detailed vision when focusing on a computer screen. Employee occasionally lifts or exerts force of up to 25 pounds when moving files, boxes and other materials. With multiple conference spaces as well as meetings across the campus, employee regularly walks outside to other buildings.

Working Conditions

Typical office environment. Regular exposure to moderate noise typical to manufacturing environments. Must travel to various Columbus State campuses and sites.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of: Policies and procedures of Ohio Development Services Agency and CSCC; project management principles; continuous improvement and operational excellence methods; basic manufacturing technologies; computers, software, including cloud applications, to include Microsoft Office applications (Work, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); SalesForce.com; Facebook marketing principles.

Skill in: Developing and maintaining good relationships; effective communication; problem solving; customer service; customer retention strategies; operating general office equipment; general typing; application of job related software programs.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Social Sciences, Higher Education, Business Systems, Information Technology, Statistics, Research or a closely related field of study. Three (3) years of professional experience in analysis and research or equivalent combination of education and experience. DDI facilitator certification; Lean Six Sigma White Belt Certification; Digital Photography Certificate. State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or demonstrable ability to gain access to work site(s). An appropriate combination of education, training, coursework and experience may qualify a candidate.
