Research Assistant Professor - Clinical Psychology - (FAC001849)



The Department of Psychology at the University of Houston (UH) seeks to hire a Research Assistant Professor for the Anxiety and Health Research Lab to conduct research on funded grant projects. UH is a Carnegie-Designated Tier One Public Research University. The successful applicant will be asked to conduct research on obesity-related health behaviors and its comorbidity with mental and physical illnesses. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, or equivalent, and an established track record in publishing peer reviewed articles on obesity, expecially obesity-related health behaviors (e.g., emotional eating, physical inactivity) and comorbidity with mental (e.g., transdiagnostic factors) and physical health disorders (e.g., chronic pain) and contributions to grant activities. Experience in developing a line of research in obesity prevention and management is preferred. Record of previous grant funding is also preferred. This position is for one year, beginning August 1, 2021, with the possibility of renewal.

Qualifications :

Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology or equivalent.

Record of publishing peer-reviewed work on obesity-related health behanviors.
