Sciences invites applications for a tenure-track
Assistant/Associate Professor of Clinical Mental Health Counseling
to begin January or August 2022.
Requirements include an earned doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision (completed by time of appointment) with demonstrated teaching excellence in higher education. The successful candidate will teach in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling master's degree program, supervise clinical/internship experiences, advise students, and participate in departmental, school and university committees and service activities. The successful candidate will also demonstrate a willingness to assist in program development, outcome assessment, CACREP accreditation and have a working knowledge of trauma-informed care. Ideal candidates will provide evidence of competence in interactive and collaborative teaching styles, as well as evidence of scholarship in the counseling field and commitment to teaching in a liberal arts setting. Qualified candidates will be expected to work collaboratively with colleagues, engage in scholarly activities appropriate to the application and receipt of tenure and promotion in a Master's I university, and engage in professional, university, and community service activities and partnerships. Candidates must be able to support and promote the University's inclusive Mission, its Catholic identity, and its liberal arts and professional education traditions.
Gannon is located in the heart of downtown Erie, Pennsylvania, along the shores of Lake Erie and close to businesses, organizations and government agencies that are active partners in helping our students receive a hands-on education. Erie is a major tourist destination boasting 11 beaches, a wide variety of seasonal activities, professional sports teams, a professional symphony, multiple venues for live theater and music, and many other entertainment options. Pittsburgh, Cleveland and Buffalo are within a two-hour drive.
