In 2004, Carnegie Mellon and Qatar Foundation began a partnership to deliver select programs that will contribute to the long-term development of Qatar. Today, Carnegie Mellon Qatar offers undergraduate programs in biological sciences, business administration, computer science, and information systems. More than 1000 students have graduated from CMU-Q since our first class completed studies in 2008. These young professionals are forging their career paths in top organizations within Qatar and around the world.

We are seeking a Senior Employer Relations Consultant at our Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar campus. This position constructs and cultivates strategic year-round recruiting activities that inspire the comprehensive career development of our students and alumni. This role sustains long-term relationships with employers, with an expanding portfolio of external relations and recruiting programs. This role will continually strengthen communication among employers, students, alumni, and faculty through innovative programming. We seek a team member who demonstrates an ability to work with a diverse student population and serves as an advocate for diversity in the workplace. The team member will provide career coaching to students and alumni on career exploration, professional development, internship and job search preparation, and post-graduation career planning needs.

Core responsibilities will include:

Coordinate all aspects of our Employer Development program, including the design and delivery of an expanding slate of recruiting activities that cultivate opportunities for our students to successfully engage in internships, full time employment and alumni to advance in their careers.

Responsible for large scale event management and communication of a robust calendar of career focused opportunities with an expansive slate of partners.
Design and implement the guidelines for the successful cultivation of an expanding network of employment opportunities for our graduates.
Develop assessment measures that drive future program development.
Contribute in purposeful ways to the personal and professional development of our students across the arc of their undergraduate experience, including engaging in active career coaching with our students.
Seek adjacencies and collaborations that enhance the professional and personal development for our students and alumni.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 1-3 years career services experience plus a master’s degree in higher education or student affairs administration, or a related field required. We encourage applications from hardworking individuals with relevant professional backgrounds.

Experience working with college and university students, and an understanding of the common developmental issues associated with that population, particularly at a high select university.

Strong communication, critical thinking, and collaboration skills are essential for success in the role.

The Student Affairs team is especially interested in qualified candidates who can contribute through their work/life experiences to the diversity of our academic community and our engagement with a multicultural student body.

Preferred qualifications:

Fluency in Arabic

Work experience in the Gulf region
