Primary Purpose of Position:
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Student Engagement and Leadership, the Special Projects Coordinator oversees logistics, supervises programs, arranges and chaperones travel related to the Student Engagement and Leadership. Additionally, the SGA, Royal Court & Special Programs Coordinator is responsible for providing support and planning programs such as a lecture series, Black History Month, Women's History Month, Hispanic Heritage Month, New Student Orientation, interdepartmental collaborations, etc. related to the mission of the Department of Student Engagement and Leadership.
- (Preferred) Master’s degree in student personnel, student development, higher education administration, student affairs or relevant field
- Two (2) or more years of combined experience in higher education, student affairs, advising, mentoring or student support services; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
The SGA/Royal Court & Special Programs Coordinator shall possess the ability to provide vision, oversight, and management of campus co-curricular events; identify and facilitate opportunities to increase student engagement in campus life; possess critical thinking and conflict management skills; able to multi-task and prioritize assignments. The position requires strong leadership and motivational abilities in a team environment with a commitment to student development and leadership excellence. Must be familiar with the trends of pageantry coronation coordination, programming, and SGA. Flexibility and the willingness to work nights and weekends are a must. Strong project management and organizational skills to effectively work on several simultaneous projects and proficiency in Microsoft Office is also required.
