Position Summary:
To assist the Head Coach and all other Assistant Coaches and Staff in the administration of a Division I intercollegiate men's and women's Track and Field and Cross Country program that complies with the mission, guidelines, rules and regulations of the University, the ASUN and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). More specifically, this person is responsible for, but not limited to, coaching student-athletes who participate in distance and/or middle distance events and cross country, recruiting, monitoring student-athlete academic progress, interacting with internal and external constituents, administration of camps/clinics, and other duties as assigned by the Head Coach, sport administrator and/or Director of Athletics.
Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s degree is required
Minimum Experience:
Three years of related work experience
Minimum Licensure and Certification:
Qualification Equivalencies:
Desired Qualifications:
Master’s degree and/or
Five years or more of experience coaching track/cross country at the NCAA Division I level or equivalent
Experience as a track and field/cross country student-athlete; experience at the NCAA Division I level preferred
Job Functions:
Recruiting future Student-Athletes to EKU; evaluating potential student-athletes; appearing at high school events and coaching clinics
Coaching - working with individual Student-Athletes and Student-Athletes in a group setting; developing training plans; working with other coaches to develop and implement training for Student-Athletes
Preparing and guiding Student-Athletes at competitions
Working on compliance and academic issues related to Student-Athletes
Engaging in administrative task and completing other duties as assigned.
