Position Summary 

Visiting Instructor of Computer Engineering teaches a variety of Electrical and Computer Engineering courses.  Courses include Data Structure and Algorithms, Computer Security, Electric Circuits, Analog Electronics, Fundamentals of Computer Logic, Embedded Systems (FPGAs), Computer Architecture, Microcontrollers, C++ Programming, and Senior Seminar Projects. The teaching assignments will depend on the candidate’s background but broad coverage of these courses is preferred.  

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Master’s degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering or related field.  
  • Previous teaching experience.  
  • A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities  

Preferred Qualifications 

  • PhD in computer engineering, electrical engineering or related field.  
  • Successful teaching/facilitation experience with undergraduate students.  

Major Responsibilities 

  •  Teach 21 credits a year.  
  •  Assign homework, papers, exams, and other deliverables as appropriate.  
  • Grade in a timely manner.  
  • Attend department meetings.  
  • Participate in recruiting and informational events as needed  
  • Maintains knowledge and awareness of digital accessibility including the American with Disabilities Act and Section 508.  
  • Produces and remediates digitally accessible materials in accordance with FLC standards.  
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Compensation  

Salary is $45,000,  plus a comprehensive benefits package.
