Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
-
Coordinate inquiries
received by email and social media.
Assist with website design
and communications.
Coordinate and ensure
publishing of quarterly newsletters and social media
accounts.
Convey research findings
to broad audiences.
Handle and keep sensitive
and confidential information.
Prepare communications to
funders (e.g., progress reports).
Create and/or deliver
presentations and materials to convey CPCR mission, activities, and
research developments.
Communicate and
collaborate with CPCR faculty and staff when preparing reports and
social media posts.
Conceptualize and design
promotional materials for the CPCR.
Represent the CPCR at
meetings and events in the community.
Establish rapport and
engage with local, national, and online communities to reduce
stigma on psychedelic assisted therapy, educate on CPCR mission and
research findings, and recruit study participants for CPCR
studies.
Establish rapport and/or
collaborate with other groups or organizations.
Utilize website as a tool
for recruitment and public relations.
Conceptualize and design
recruitment materials.
Utilize a variety of
recruitment tools, including but not limited to Facebook, Google,
and print advertisements.
Identify new tools and
ways to improve study recruitment.
Design advertisements to
reach demographically diverse populations who are representative of
the target population.
Develop rapport with
groups, organizations, and individuals that may be able to aid in
recruitment.
Build partnerships with
local clinics and community centers for recruitment and outreach
purposes.
Interpret recruitment
data, including advertisement reach, impressions, costs, and
outcomes.
Utilize Google Analytics
and Facebook Pixel and other applications to collect data on
recruitment ads and online activity.
Report advertisement data
and trends to CPCR faculty and staff.
Triage communications and
inquiries received via email, CPCR website, and social
media.
Manage sensitive and
confidential information.
Develop and maintain
rapport with study participants on an as needed
basis.
Perform miscellaneous
related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (Mandatory):
-
2 years of college
coursework.
Some related
experience.
Additional education may
substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the
JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in related discipline such as
marketing, public relations, journalism, or related
field.
1 year community outreach
experience.
Special Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
-
Excellent oral and written
communication skills.
Experience using various
social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Twitter,
YouTube).
Experience creating social
media ads (e.g., Facebook, Google Ads).
Experience working with
underrepresented groups.
Event planning, marketing,
public affairs, community organizing, or
recruitment.
Ability to think
creatively to reach target populations pertaining to various study
protocols.
Ability to prioritize and
work on multiple tasks with concurrent deadlines and utilize good
time management.
Detail
oriented.
Excellent public speaking
skills.
Adaptable to a variety of
environments.
Ability to work
independently and communicate effectively with
others.
Strong interpersonal
skills.
Experience with graphic
design or creating promotional materials.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to sit in a normal seated position for extended period.
- Able to reach by extending hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction.
- Finger dexterity required, able to manipulate objects with fingers rather than entire hand(s) or arm(s), e.g., use of computer keyboard. Communication skills using the written and spoken word. Ability to see (visually) within normal parameters. Ability to hear within normal range.

During the Influenza ("the flu") season, as a condition of employment, The Johns Hopkins Institutions require all employees who provide ongoing services to patients or work in patient care or clinical care areas to have an annual influenza vaccination or possess an approved medical or religious exception. The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact requires documentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination. This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers. Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office.
