Job Description:

The Bellarmine University Art Department is seeking a full-time instructor with a focus on digital media for the 2021-2022 academic year.

Responsibilities including planning and teaching a 3/3 course load including some evening classes; attending department and college meetings; holding regular office hours; supervision and upkeep of the Mac lab; participation in course and program assessments; supporting recruitment and retention efforts; attending department activities, including some evening and weekend events; and general support of Bellarmine's visual art and interdisciplinary Design, Arts & Technology programs.

The ideal candidate is a dynamic, collegial, student-focused artist-educator with a commitment to the liberal arts and an excellent record of teaching courses in several of the following areas: digital foundations, digital illustration, video art, net art, animation and/or graphic design. Fall 2021 courses include Digital Foundations (Tuesdays and Thursdays 9:25-12:05) and Web Art (Mondays and Wednesdays 10:00-12:50). Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in the Adobe suite of products and familiarity with HTML and CSS.

Requirements:

  • Master of Fine Arts or related terminal degree.
  • Teaching experience in digital media
  • Proficiency with the Adobe products including Photoshop and Illustrator
