Assistant Research Professor of Pediatrics
The Herman B. Wells Center for Pediatric Research in Indianapolis, Indiana is seeking candidates for an Assistant Research Professor position. Duties include performing research related activities including analyzing data, drafting manuscripts, and writing grants on the mechanisms underlying acute central nervous system (CNS) injury in children who are survivors of severe malaria and other acute brain injury disorders. The person in this position will also help identify biomarkers associated with such CNS injury that can then be used as indicators of future neurocognitive problems. The position will also supervise research being performed by PhD students, postdocs, clinical research fellows, undergraduate students and lab trainees as well as supervise projects for ongoing research studies and clinical trials. Position requires a PhD in Parasitology or related field. Position also requires at least 18 months of laboratory experience as well as at least 18 months of field experience with malaria research. Experience with statistical analysis including STATA and Prism required. International travel, primarily Uganda, required.
