The Academic Operations Manager is responsible for the long-term and day-to-day operations and administration of the Tepper Semester Program. This position works in close partnership with the Program Director and is responsible for all aspects of operational and support services for the program, including providing administrative support to the Program Director. In addition, provides administrative support to faculty, guest artists, and students. Serves as the primary interface with the Fisher Center Director of Facilities Operations and communicates with main campus administrative staff regarding business and clerical matters. This position reports to the Chair of the Department of Drama. Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree is required. • Three (3) plus years of experience in operations or administrative management is required. • Experience in academic administration and direct interaction with faculty and students is preferred. • Theater background and expertise is preferred. Job Specific Qualifications
• Requires high-level organizational and management skills (including budgeting and financial management), and the ability to work with students, faculty, and professional guest artists in an academic setting. • Requires creative problem-solving and thorough knowledge of academic and administrative policies. • Require excellent command of Microsoft Word/Excel; web-based storage, communication and document management systems (such as Google docs, etc.); database management and billing systems. • Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills (including facility with social media platforms) and the ability to work collaboratively. • This appointment requires residency in New York City. • Knowledge of academic organization, policies, procedures, and budget process is desirable. • Theater background and expertise is preferred. Responsibilities
• Manage long-term and day-to-day operations and administration of the Tepper Semester Program. • Direct all business and clerical functions of the program, including but not limited to budget preparation, budget analysis, accounts payable, payroll, and related reconciliation. • Communicate with main campus administrative staff regarding business and clerical matters. • Manage all processes related to student housing, program registration process, and ancillary services. • Serve as primary facilities liaison with the Fisher Center Director of Facilities Operations for all classes, programs and activities, including scheduling and logistics. • Provide administrative support to the Director, faculty, and guest artists, including but not limited to management of Program calendar, correspondence, and mail; minutes of meetings; travel arrangements; ticket purchasing; support with event and field trip logistics. • Provide administrative support for Program recruiting and admissions, including application and acceptance process; correspondence and record keeping. • Provide administrative support for student learning environment, including audiovisual and computer equipment management, and classroom setup when needed. • Hire, train, schedule, and supervise temporary or student support staff: assign and monitors projects, create work-study schedule, and submit payroll. • Perform other duties as determined in partnership with Program Director or as assigned by the Department Chair.
