Academic Services Administrator

Chatham University has an immediate opening for an Academic Services Administrator. As a staff member of the Office of Academic and Accessibility Resources (OAAR) department, the Academic Services Administrator will be responsible for all aspects of administering the academic support programs. This includes, but is not limited to, peer tutoring, supplemental instructions(SI), writing center, and general academic support at Chatham University. Duties may include recruitment, training, scheduling, supervision, and assessment of peer tutors, SI leaders and writing support staff.

The administrator serves as a liaison among the staff, faculty, and students who seek out academic support. This position will require the individual to be able to meet with and guide students who are struggling academically. The administrator may also be responsible for curriculum design and instruction of the IND 101: Foundations of Learning course.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective strategies for identifying and recruiting qualified and diverse peer tutors, supplemental instructors and student assistants
  • Develop, implement, and assesses a training program for peer tutors, SI leaders and student assistants based on current best practices in the field
  • Support University and OAAR events through outreach (ability to effectively use several social media platforms), planning, development, and participation
  • Obtain and maintain CRLA certification for the Chatham University tutoring program
  • Develop and implement on-line tutoring options based on best-practices


Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required, master's degree preferred with a minimum of 3-years of experience working in educational support services and/or teaching experience. Excellent writing and organization skills. Proven technological skills including collecting and analyzing data. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to provide services with efficiency, sensitivity and tact.
