Director of Enrollment Management Analytics

Job Description

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is currently recruiting for a Director of Enrollment Management Analytics to manage data science activities for the department of Enrollment Management. Reporting to the Vice President for Enrollment Management, the Director's primary initiative includes extracting value and insights from the varied and broad data sources, both internal and external, available to the Enrollment Management unit. Using state-of-the-art data mining, machine learning, and statistical analytics tools to prototype, build, and execute products that enhance and inform our leadership team, and to also empower university stakeholders to make strategic decisions using advanced analytics. With strong knowledge of higher education and strategic enrollment management, effective and efficient data-driven strategic decisions regarding enrollment and associated projections can be achieved. Additional duties will include but not limited to:

• Predictive modeling and forecasting utilizing recruitment and enrollment data to assist with strategic decision-making for effective short and long term enrollment, recruitment, and persistence strategies
• Design, create, update and evolve existing and new analytic reports that leverage a variety of visualization and reporting tools and techniques
• Oversee, develop, and implement data collection system strategies which optimize data efficiency and quality
• Identify and interpret recruitment trends or patterns in complex historical recruitment data sets to inform day-to-day enrollment management functions
• Oversee and coordinate recruitment data integrity and quality control through audit reports and data science best practices
• Communicate findings and results to a wide variety of audiences from university-level leadership to Enrollment Management peers using innovative data visualization techniques
• Collaborate with cross-functional departments and across the university entities on data-related projects and initiatives
  

In summary, the Director of Enrollment Analytics will lead the department of Enrollment Management in transforming data into information, information into insight and insight into better-informed decisions.

Qualifications

Required skills and experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Math, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics or related field is required; Master's in Economics, Data Science, Predictive Modeling or a related field is preferred; Master's degree in related field would be equal to work experience
• At least five years of experience working as a data analyst or business analyst
• Extensive technical expertise with data models, data mining, data presentation and segmentation techniques
• Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing data sets such as SPSS, SAS, Excel, etc.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, analyze, organize and distribute large amount of data with accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong knowledge of queries and reporting writing
• Experience working with databases and systems such as CRM and other information systems
• Ability to work under pressure
• Good organization and excellent interpersonal skills
• Maintain a positive and professional image
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with all levels of co-workers, staff, students and faculty. Ability to adapt and learn ever changing technological enhancements and keep up with the pace of new and changing technology
• Ability to recognize and re-establish priorities, while being flexible
