This position requires teaching 4 classes with 3 preparations. Some evening or online teaching may be required. Five hours of office hours are required per week. In addition, the faculty member is required to engage in various scholarly activities and provide service to the University. Position is a nine month appointment.
Position Summary
Slippery Rock University invites applications for a full time, tenure track Social Work faculty member in the Department of Public Health and Social Work beginning January 2022. The successful candidate will:

1) teach courses across the generalist and /or advanced (clinical) social work curriculum in both the BSSW and MSW programs

2) demonstrate scholarship and research activity

3) serve on department, college, and university committees and engage in community activities as appropriate. Minimum Qualifications
Minimum qualifications include:
1) Masters degree in Social Work ( MSW ) from a CSWE accredited program required
2) doctorate in social work or closely related field required at time of employment
3) strong team player with a record of collaborative, collegial relationships
4) excellent organizational skills
5) demonstrated commitment to the education of diverse populations and
6) successful performance in an interview and teaching demonstration. Preferred Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include:
1) Prior social work teaching experience at a college or university setting,
2) experience with online instruction,
3) experience teaching clinical courses,
4) professional social work practice experience,
5) a record of research/scholarly activity,
6) active Pennsylvania Social Work License (or license eligible), and
7) experience in forensic social work, animal-assisted intervention or crisis intervention.
