The University of North Carolina at Pembroke (UNCP) invites
qualified applicants to apply for a full-time tenure track faculty
position. The UNCP nursing program is expanding in
scope and size allowing an increase in the number of tenured track
faculty positions. An individual in this position may teach in
pre-licensure, RN-BSN, and/or MSN programs during the
academic year and summer session. UNCP is a master’s
level degree-granting university and one of 17 schools that
comprise the University of North Carolina system. With a total
enrollment of more than 8,000 students, the university offers 41
undergraduate and 18 graduate degree programs.
The UNCP main campus is located in Pembroke, NC, a quiet,
safe community within 15 minutes from Lumberton, NC. Located just
off Interstate 95 and Interstate 74 at the mid-point between Boston
and Miami, the campus is convenient to all major metro areas of the
Carolinas as well as world famous beaches and
resorts. UNCP is a dynamic educational institution
committed to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service. The
successful candidates’ primary responsibilities includes
administrative duties, teaching, scholarship, and service.
50% of which is administrative duties which include
curricula implementation by developing and enhancing the didactic,
simulation, laboratory, and clinical learning experiences for both
entry and advanced nursing education programs. The person in this
position will work closely with other directors and the Chair.
Salaries are competitive and commensurate with experience and
qualifications.
Minimum Training and Experience Requirements: All candidates must hold a minimum of a master’s degree in nursing, with 3 years of teaching experience.
Management Preferences: Doctoral degree preferred. A background in student success efforts and clinical teaching. Previous experience in community engagement.
Licenses and Certifications: Unrestricted RN license in the state of North Carolina.
