The School of Nursing is seeking a Research Assistant with an interest in women’s health and research to assist the Study Coordinator on the NIH -funded “Mindful Moms Study” with participant recruitment, enrollment, tracking, data collection (including blood collection via phlebotomy), and verification of data in the database. The RA will assist the Study Coordinator in managing/ supporting the interventionists implementing the study interventions in the community. The RA will also assist the team in areas such as communications (e.g., website presence, coordinating with community partners, communicating with community organizations and clinicians, etc.) and regulatory issues (reports to the IRB, the NIH, etc.). The RA will assist the research team with preparation of knowledge dissemination products (e.g., manuscripts, presentations) and other similar duties as assigned. Required Qualifications

• High school degree/ GED or higher
• Experience working in the healthcare field or enrolled in a healthcare program of study or experience in research
• Competent in Microsoft Office Suite
• Demonstrated ability to work with an interprofessional team and community members
• Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse, faculty, staff and student environment or commitment to do so as a university professional at VCU .

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous phlebotomy training and/or willingness to be trained in phlebotomy
• Experience with research studies
• Evidence of effective communication with research participants and/or patients
• Completion of research ethics training ( CITI )
• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare field
• Experience working with low-resource/marginalized communities
• Experience with social media or website development
