Working at the Health Sciences Library, the successful candidate will:
Staff main service desk, answer patron questions pertaining to library resources in person and by phone, chat or online.
Checks out books and equipment, responds to room reservation, library policy issues, technology questions and directions inquiries.
Open and/or close the library on weekends and evenings.
Monitor building for security and safety of students, report incidents or unsafe situations.
Monitor building for facilities problems, submit tickets for maintenance.
Assist library staff with special projects related to data entry, searching the library catalog, and processing materials.
Refer complex research questions to librarians appropriately.
Communicate clearly and effectively with students, faculty and staff.
Processes fees and other financial transactions. Required Qualifications
Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to learn quickly are required.
Applicants with exemplary customer service skills and experience are encouraged to apply. Reliability and dependability are a must. Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in an academic setting and in an academic library.
